About Arkamys Founded in Paris in 1998, Arkamys is a leading pure-player in audio software and automatic tuning tools for the automotive industry. Its embedded software (SoundStage, Road Noise Management, Smart Tuning, Engine Active Noise Cancellation) improves in-cabin sound without extra hardware, and equips vehicles from OEMs such as Stellantis, Renault-Nissan and Hyundai-Kia. Headquartered in Levallois-Perret, the group has subsidiaries in Germany, China, Japan, South Korea and the USA, and a patent portfolio protecting its spatialisation and audio-processing technologies. The role You work under the guidance of the CFO and the CEO, who set your objectives and priorities. Day to day, you work hand in hand mainly with external counsel, the CFO and the CEO, and with the sales directors, sales managers and marketing to understand customer requests and what is at stake for them. Key responsibilities Intellectual property - Secure worldwide protection of Arkamys' patents, trademarks and logos, at least in strategic countries, working with external IP firms and foreign associates. - Track deadlines, annuities and renewals; keep the IP docketing database accurate and report on portfolio coverage to management. - Follow conflicts and disputes on IP rights with external counsel, including oppositions, infringement matters and trademark watch notices. - Prepare and track brand authorisation letters for partners and customers using Arkamys brands and logos. - Handle recordals: assignments, ownership and name changes, licences. - Support the invention disclosure process with R&D. Contracts - Prepare first drafts of NDAs and software agreements, coordinate their review with external counsel, and keep contract templates up to date. - Flag new issues and clauses to watch: IP ownership and licensing, liability, warranties and maintenance, image rights and copyright on videos and images embedded in HMIs, and termination clauses. - Apply trade-sanctions requirements to contracts and dealings involving restricted countries such as Russia and Belarus. - Support the legal side of Features on Demand (FoD), which moves part of the business from B2B to B2C, and its consequences for contracts and end-user terms. - Follow late-payment interest and royalty volume reporting clauses. - Manage the contract lifecycle: signature workflow, central repository, renewal and expiry alerts. Legal point of contact, compliance and knowledge - Keep templates, internal guidelines and the legal knowledge base current; run a regular legal and regulatory watch (IP, corporate, data protection). - Support GDPR and export-control compliance records. - Act as the first point of contact for legal questions company-wide: triage requests, brief external counsel (IP, corporate, employment, litigation) and manage their scope, budget and invoices with the CFO. Profile Must have - 5+ years as a paralegal or legal assistant, in an IP firm, a law firm or an in-house legal team.. - Hands-on experience of IP formalities (filings, renewals, recordals) or of corporate housekeeping, and willingness to grow into the other. - A paralegal or legal-assistant qualification; a law degree is a plus but not required. - French and English at professional level, written and spoken; drafting legal correspondence in both. - Rigor with deadlines and documents, comfort running several workstreams in parallel with no legal manager on site, and the judgement to know when to escalate to external counsel. Nice to have - Experience as a standalone legal resource or alongside a finance team, in a tech company (ideally automotive or software). - Experience handling IP filings or contracts in several countries at once, particularly China, Japan, South Korea, Germany or the USA, where Arkamys has subsidiaries. - A third language: German, Mandarin, Japanese or Korean.
