Its primary focus is to review and prepare contractual documentation, assess legal risks, and provide legal guidance to operational and business teams in connection with CGNEE’s activities. The role also contributes to selected compliance matters relating to data protection/GDPR, anti-corruption and ISO 37001 implementation, and NIS2 where applicable. It also supports the handling of claims and pre-litigation matters within its scope, with a view to protecting CGNEE’s contractual positions and supporting business execution.
Key responsibilities
- Contractual support and risk assessment
Provide legal support on contractual matters related to CGNEE’s activities by assessing contractual risks, preparing and reviewing contractual documentation, assisting internal teams during negotiation, execution and follow-up of contractual arrangements, and supporting the handling of contract-related issues arising in day-to-day operations.
- Claims, insurance matters and pre-litigation support
Support the handling of insurance claims and other contractual claims arising from CGNEE’s activities, as well as pre-litigation matters within the role’s scope, in coordination with internal teams and external counsel where appropriate.
- Personal data protection and GDPR-related matters
Support CGNEE in the implementation and follow-up of personal data protection and GDPR compliance matters, including privacy assessments, personal data transfer matters, data breach support, and coordination with internal stakeholders or external advisors where appropriate.
- Anti-corruption matters and ISO 37001 implementation
Contribute to anti-corruption workstreams, in particular the implementation and continuous improvement of CGNEE’s ISO 37001 anti-bribery management system, including risk mapping, internal procedures, training materials, third-party due diligence processes and related follow-up actions.
- Other role-related responsibilities
Support ad hoc legal and compliance-related projects assigned within the role's scope, such as NIS2-related readiness matters, contract template or clause library updates, claims-handling process improvements, or support for specific regulatory initiatives (e.g., ISO 37001 renewal cycles or data protection audits), as required by the Deputy Director of LCD. Contribute legal input, internal reporting support, and documentation and coordination assistance for such projects, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate follow-up in relation to business changes, organisational arrangements, regulatory updates or project needs.
